Suicide bombing kills 6 in eastern Congo
At least seven people have been killed from a bomb explosion inside a restaurant in a city in the east of Democratic Republic of Congo.
This is the latest attack in violence, in an area where Congolese and Ugandan forces have launched a campaign against suspected terrorists.
“Five people were killed in this explosion, as well as the suicide bomber himself, to make it six,” said The mayor of the city Beni, Narcisse Muteba Kashale.
Congolese government spokesman Patrick Muyaya said the blast had been caused by a suicide bomber.
There were no immediate claims of responsibility.
