Meteorology center warns of severe cold weather, calls for precautions in several Yemeni provinces
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected cold weather to continue with low temperatures during the next 24 hours.
The center, in its weather bulletin on Friday, the weather would continue to be very cold in parts of the provinces of Saada and Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, and northern parts of Ibb, Dhalea, Lahj as well as in the western highlands of Jawf and Marib.
It was expected that the weather would be cold on the heights of Taiz provinces, Abyan, Shabwah and Hadhramout, and relatively cold to very cold on desert areas.
The center warned citizens of severe cold shocks due to the sharp drop in minimum temperatures, especially the elderly, children, patients, and workers during the night and early morning, and urged farmers to take the necessary precautions to protect their crops.
