Acting Minister of HR meets Director of Save the Children

Acting Minister of Human Rights Ali al-Dailami met on Tuesday with country director of Save the Children Xavier Joubert.

In the meeting, al-Dailami and Joubert
discussed the cooperation between the ministry and the organization in the areas of care and protection activities for children.

They touched on the suffering of the Yemeni children and the violations and crimes they are exposed to by the aggression in the various Yemeni regions.

The Acting Minister of Human Rights said the organizations and institutions concerned with the protection of children must
play their role in stopping the violations of the aggression countries against Yemen’s children.

He added the countries of aggression have violated and still violating the rights of children in the health, educational, psychological, nutritional and other fields.

Al-Dailami touched on the ministry’s role in promoting and protecting children’s rights and its keenness to strengthen partnership with civil society organizations working in this field.

He expressed the hope that the organization would cooperate in implementing activities in conjunction with the International Day for the Rights of the Child and support efforts to protect children for the next year.

He pointed to the negative role of some organizations that justify the violations and crimes of aggression against Yemeni children and human rights in general, stressing that the perpetrators of these crimes will be prosecuted.

For his part, Joubert affirmed the organization’s readiness to cooperate with the Ministry of Human Rights in a number of activities that concern children in Yemen in a way that alleviates their suffering and preserves their rights.

He reviewed the activities and programs implemented by the organization in Yemen since 2015 that target children and adults, as well as its plan for the next year.

Joubert pointed out the organization is keen on partnership and cooperation with local organizations and relevant government agencies for the service of childhood in Yemen.
