Indirect Losses of YPC Due to Saudi-led Aggression Estimated at Over $12 Billion
The Public Health and Population Office in the Capital and Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) organized a protest in front of UN’s headquarter in Sana’a, condemning the US-Saudi aggression for detaining oil tankers and preventing them to enter Hodeidah’s port.
YPC estimated the direct losses of the Nationals economy as a result of the difference in the costs of obtaining fuel due to the blockade at more than 600 million dollars since the beginning of 2021, while the indirect losses are estimated at more than 12 billion dollars.
The CEO of the company indicated that there are studies issued by international universities confirming the futility of any aid to Yemen in light of the siege imposed on it.
He pointed out that the United Nations is aware of the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the aggression and the siege, noting that the damages in the occupied areas exceeded hundreds of billions of dollars due to the collapse of the economic situation.
Yemen Petroleum Company holds the United Nations and the US-led aggression fully responsible for the repercussions of the blockade and maritime piracy on fuel ships.
The statement pointed out that health facilities suffer greatly from a shortage of working hours due to the blockade on oil derivatives. It noted that cancer patients are dying due to the blockade, preventing the entry of medical devices, and the closure of Sana’a International Airport.
