Fake Saudi money spread widely in Aden city

This week, fake foreign currency spread heavily on the streets of Aden, after dozens of exchange companies and shops were closed.

The Yemeni Press Agency has learned that the fake Saudi currency have spread significantly among exchange-makers near banks and closed exchange companies, selling them at a slightly lower price than exchange companies.

According to the sources, a merchant bought 40,000 Saudi riyals, including 15,000  riyals from the fake money, and another citizen bought 10,000 Saudi riyals, all fake.

The sources pointed out that the gangs selling Saudi currencies spread in the streets of Aden, and mastered the process of counterfeiting with high accuracy, suggesting that the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s influential  men were likely to stand behind the forgery, continuing to destroy the national economy.
