A source in the local police from the Taliban movement confirmed the report and added that dozens more people were injured in the blast.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a Shi’ite mosque, where hundreds of people were gathered for Friday prayer.
This is the largest terrorist attack in Afghanistan since the Americans left it at the end of August.
No one or organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but it can be estimated that ISIS Khursan is behind the operation.
In recent weeks, the Taliban has stepped up its attacks against ISIS in the country, and even eliminated its leader, Abu Omar Khursani.
