8 killed, 20 wounded in mosque bombing in Kabul

At least eight people were killed and 20 others were injured on Sunday due to a bomb attack targeted a mosque in the Afghan capital, Kabul, according to media reports.

Saeed Khosti, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior in the Taliban interim government, said in a press statement that “three people have been arrested in connection with the attack.”

On Sunday, Zabihullah Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information in the interim government, said that a bomb exploded at the entrance to the Eid Gha mosque, in Kabul, leaving “a number of civilian deaths,” without specifying the type of explosion or the number of casualties.

No party claimed responsibility for the attack.

On August 15, the “Taliban” movement took control of Afghanistan almost completely, paralleling the last stage of a US military withdrawal that was completed at the end of the same month.
