Foreign Affairs: UN, Guterres’ Remarks, Blatant Interference in Yemeni Affairs
The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned, on Monday, the remarks of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, regarding the execution of nine criminals involved in the assassination of the martyr president Saleh Al-Sammad.
In a statement, the ministry considered that Guterres’ statement constituted a blatant interference in the internal affairs of the Yemeni judiciary and a shameful bias towards the US-Saudi aggression and war criminals, and in line with their positions and what they repeat in their misleading media.
The statement said that Guterres should have condemned the war crimes and extrajudicial killings committed by the US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries on a daily basis in Yemen and for the sake of his capabilities for the seven years.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that judicial rulings were issued against criminals convicted by the Yemeni judiciary for their participation in the crime of assassinating the country’s president. They received a fair trial more than three years after committing the crime they confessed to committing. And it considered that the Secretary-General’s remark in his statement to the crime committed by the aggression in Shabwa.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry stressed on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to reconsider his positions towards what is happening in Yemen and not with the positions of the aggression and it’s mercenaries and media discourse.
