Foreign Affairs Calls on International Organizations to Put Efforts to Open Sana’a Int. Airport

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Salvation Government, Hisham Sharaf, called on the United Nations’ organizations working in Yemen and all international governmental, non-governmental organizations to make more efforts to open Sana’a International Airport.

The move came during his meeting today with the Regional Director of the World Food Program for the Middle East and North Africa, Corinne Fleischer.

Minister Sharaf pointed out that these organizations are fully aware that continuation of the blockade by the US-Saudi aggression. He explained that the failure to open Sana’a airport and detention of oil and gas vessels, renders the efforts of UN and all organizations. For these efforts to be of value they have to lead to the alleviation of suffering.

Minister Sharaf stressed that aid is not the only solution to alleviate the tragedy created by the US-Saudi aggression in Yemen for the past six years, in addition the consequences of the economic war waged against Yemen by the aggression continues while the world watching and does not move.

He called the Food Program called to pay attention to the quality of food distributed to citizens to maintain healthy supplies.

The Regional Director of the World Food Program indicated that the program suffers from a shortfall in funding as a result of the donor’s failure to meet their obligations in full, which negatively affects its plans and activities.
