US-Saudi Aggression Seizing Fuel Ships, What Reaches Port of Hodeidah Small Percentage Need

The Director General of the Yemen Petroleum Company, Adnan Al-Jarmozi, revealed that the quantities of fuel derivatives that have reached the port of Hodeidah since the beginning of 2021 constitute only a very small percentage of the actual need.

In a statement to Almasirah, Al Jarmozi confirmed that the actual need for fuel derivatives during the year ranges in the range of one million and 360 thousand tons of gasoline, and one million and 540 thousand tons of diesel.

He explained that what has arrived at the port of Hodeidah since the beginning of the year 2021 AD is 27,893 tons of gasoline, equivalent to only 4% of the actual need, and 57,982 tons of diesel, not exceeding 7% of the actual need.

The director of resources at the Hodeidah Oil Company, Hayel Muhammad Qatshi, said that there are 5 ships, including two ships loaded with gasoline, one with diesel, and two with domestic gas, and the equivalent of 106,999 tons of fuel.

He explained that the maximum period of detention for fuel derivatives ships until today has reached more than 260 days, stressing that all cargoes of fuel derivatives ships seized by the aggression are intended for public consumption and bear United Nations permits.

The head of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, confirmed that the aggression’s persistence in seizing fuel derivatives ships is further embargoing the Yemeni people, pointing out: “We are at the beginning of an academic year and our children are suffering from power outages as a result of the aggression’s piracy on fuel ships.”
