Due to US-Saudi Siege, Hemodialysis Centers in Hodeidah Issue Distress Call, Lacking Fuel
The Kidney Diseases and Dialysis Centers in Al-Hodeidah Governorate launched a distress call to save the lives of patients due to electricity outage and an acute shortage of diesel fuel running the generators.
In a statement, the leaders of the nephrology and dialysis centers in Hodeidah, Zabid, Al-Qanaws and Bajel confirmed the deteriorating health condition of the patients, which threatened to be exposed to complications that may lead to death at any moment. This is coming as a result of stopping work due to running out of fuel while the Saudi-led aggression continue to detain oil derivatives ships and prevent their entry.
They reported that organizations working in the health field have reduced the monthly allocations for these centers of diesel to 20 percent, which makes more than 887 patients in the governorate vulnerable to death.
