Total civil disobedience against economic deterioration launched in Hadhramaut

The occupied province of Hadhramaut has on Tuesday witnessed a civil disobedience as part of an escalation program, rejecting the policy of starvation and denouncing economic conditions, currency collapse and lack of services.

Activists circulated on social media, pictures of public streets in Mukalla, Al-Sheher, Ghayl Ba Wazir and the city of Seiyun, which is free of passers-by, and other shops closed.

The pictures also showed a significant decrease in traffic, as well as the burning of tires in the middle of the main streets in an attempt to paralyze the movement completely.

The civil disobedience in Hadhramaut coincided with a popular uprising across the provinces and the occupied southern and eastern regions against the Saudi-UAE occupation and Hadi’s government.

Residents condemned the deterioration of economic situation and the collapse of the currency after the exchange of the dollar reaches to more than 1000 Yemeni riyals, which negatively affected all aspects of life, in addition to the interruption of salaries and the lack of necessary services such as electricity and water.
