STC warns of rising hunger in southern Yemen
Leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) have warned of rising real hunger among families in Yemen’s southern provinces.
During its meeting on Tuesday, the leaders of the “STC” in Lahj province called on the Hadi government to develop urgent solutions to prevent the deterioration of the local currency in front of foreign currencies, stressing that the so-called “legitimacy” is pursuing methods of crisis-making and restrictions on citizens in the southern provinces.
Hadi’s government has failed to carry out any economic reforms to stop the decline of the Yemeni riyal, having flooded the southern provinces with illegal currency printed in Russia over the past two years.
The National Salvation government in Sanaa and the Economic Commission have repeatedly warned of the Hadi government’s disastrous actions, but have been met with ridicule and frenzied campaigns.
