President discusses with Minister of Health difficulties facing health sector

President of the Supreme Political council Mahdi al-Mashat has met Minister of Public Health and Population Taha Al-Mutawakel.

During the meeting, al-Mashat and al-Mutawakel discussed the shortages of the health sector in Yemen due to the continuation of the US-Saudi blockade, the cessation of external support, and the lack of oil derivatives.

They touched on the difficulties facing hospitals and health facilities due to the lack of medicines supplies and the efforts made to secure the drug stock.

President al-Mashat directed to pay attention to medical education and develop the capabilities of health cadres to meet the needs of health facilities from qualified cadres in various disciplines.

He stressed the need to continuously assess the performance and quality of hospitals, health centers, and medical staff.
