Gang abducts child, demands ransom in exchange for his release in Taiz

An armed gang abducted a child in front of his home in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, which is under control of Islah militants, local sources said.

According to the sources, a few days ago, an armed gang abducted the child “Abdullah Abdul Karim al-Qahtani” in front of his house in Wadi Al-Madam neighborhood.

Moreover, the sources explained that the kidnapping took place in broad daylight and was recorded by surveillance cameras in the area.

Furthermore, the surveillance tape was handed over to the security services to identify the kidnappers, but the security services did not act and did not arrest the perpetrators until now.

They confirmed that the gang reached out to the family of the abducted child and requested a ransom in exchange for his release.

The sources noted that the child’s family is not that rich and unable to offer a ransom, while the security services were unable to return the child to his parents.
