UNICEF plane carrying vaccines arrives at Sana’a airport
A United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) cargo plane arrived Monday at Sana’a International Airport, carrying 10 tons of medical vaccines for children under two years of age.
Director of Vaccines Department in the Immunization Program, Taha Al-Aqari, explained that the shipment contains about 250,000 doses of the polio vaccine, and one million doses of the measles and rubella vaccine, in addition to 605,400 doses of the pneumococcal vaccine.
The vaccines target children under two years of age and are used for routine vaccination in all health facilities in the country, Al-Aari added.
The flight crew praised the level of navigation services provided by the airport in accordance with the terms and requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
