23 people killed, injured by explosive device in Afghanistan

Five people were killed and 18 others were injured when an explosive device exploded in Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan.

“An explosive device planted by militants on a road in Maiwand district exploded as a passenger bus passed late on Tuesday night, killing five passengers, including women and children, and wounding 18 others,” Xinhua news agency quoted the Afghan police as saying on Wednesday.
