At least 12 killed, 138 injured in natural gas pipeline explosion in China
At least 12 people were killed and 138 injured Sunday when a large natural gas pipeline exploded in central China, Chinese media reported Sunday.
China’s CCTV television channel reported that the natural gas explosion occurred in Xi’an City in China’s Hubei Province, adding that 138 people, including 37 in critical condition, were hospitalized.
It added that the explosion occurred at about 6:30 a.m. local time, in the grounds of a residential complex in the city’s Changwan district, where a large food market destroyed about 40 kiosks.
