Agricultural Research Authority, FAO discuss joint cooperation

Vice President of the General Authority for Agricultural Research and Guidance, Dr. Abed Al-Beell, discussed the joint cooperation and ways to strengthen it in the development of agricultural research on Sunday with FAO Resident Representative Dr. Hussein Jaden.

The meeting reviewed the available capabilities of the Authority of research equipment and staff.

The two sides also discussed the activities of the technology deployment sector in the Authority and its role in transferring research techniques to farmers’ fields.

The meeting stressed the continued cooperation between FAO and the General Authority for Agricultural Research and Guidance and the development of the GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS section of the Authority to produce natural resource maps and the inventory and classification of land at the national level.

Hussein Jaden praised the role of agricultural research and the efforts of researchers for agricultural development.
