6 killed in attack on wedding party in Afghanistan
At least six people were killed when a shell fell on a house where a wedding was taking place in northern Afghanistan.
“Reuters” quoted security officials, on Sunday, that at least six Afghan civilians were killed and four others were injured when a mortar shell landed on a house during a wedding party in Kapisa province.
The blast occurred on Saturday evening in Tagab district, which witnessed fighting between Afghan government forces and Taliban militants.
A police spokesman in the area accused the Taliban of firing the shell, explaining that among the dead were a woman and a child.
But a senior security official in Kabul said the death toll was at least 10, and that the number of wounded was 18.
A Taliban spokesman denied the movement’s responsibility, and said the mortar was fired by Afghan security forces.
