At least 20 people were killed and three others injured when a bus carrying passengers collided with a truck on the Assiut Red Sea road, Egyptian media reported.
Early Wednesday morning, the Egyptian Ministry of Health confirmed that 20 people were killed and three injured in the incident.
The Ministry said it had pushed 31 ambulances to rescue the injured and transport the charred bodies, al-Ahram reported.
Photos circulating on social media showed the bus charred and burned completely after the collision with the car.
The bus was travelling from Cairo when it turned over and was hit by the truck on a road in the southern province of Assiut, 320 kilometers (199 miles) south of Cairo, Assiut Governor, Essam Saad said in a statement.
Both vehicles caught fire, the statement added.
