Total civil disobedience against economic deterioration launched in Lahj

A total civil disobedience to protest against the economic deterioration was launched on Tuesday in Yemen’s southern province of Lahj, sources said.

The sources said that the shops and all service establishments have completely closed their doors in refusal of the added price dose of oil derivatives, in addition to the collapse of the Yemeni local currency and the rise of the food prices as a result of the corruption of the Saudi-backed Hadi’s government.

The sources pointed out that the civil disobedience would continue in the coming days as a means to pressure on the government and the coalition to stop trading in the suffering of citizens.

The southern provinces are witnessing widespread demonstrations and protests due to the high prices and the economic decline, which has burdened citizens, while Hadi’s government is exerting corruption and money laundering, according to the recent report of the UN experts.
