Aviation Authority Client: “We Are Forced To Close Sanaa Airport To UN Flights Due To The Exhaustion Of Oil Derivatives”
The Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Raed Talib Jabal, confirmed the inability of Sana’a International Airport to continue providing navigation services to United Nations aircraft and humanitarian and relief organizations due to the depletion of basic, reserve and emergency oil products.
“We are forced to close Sanaa International Airport to international flights due to the depletion of oil derivatives and the airport’s inability to provide the necessary quantities to operate the airport to receive international flights,” he said in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).
He pointed out that the airport is unable to operate generators, firefighting vehicles, devices and equipment for providing services to UN aircraft and humanitarian and relief organizations that arrive and leave Sana’a International Airport on a daily basis.
He pointed out that Sanaa airport has been facing, for more than two months, great difficulty in providing its needs of essential oil derivatives.
Jabal affirmed that the American-Saudi aggression coalition’s preventing entering the oil derivatives ships to Hodeidah port harms movement and general activity in Yemen. They including air navigation at Sanaa International Airport, holding the aggression coalition fully responsible for closing it to UN flights and stopping services there.
