Human rights report: Coalition militia jails 13 women in Lahj
Human rights sources have revealed serious abuses against women in Lahj province, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition militias.
The province’s Human Rights Office monitored 115 cases of abuse in 2020, including 40 cases of violence and physical assault against women, 17 cases of minor marriages and three forced marriages in 2020.
Human rights activist Hayat al-Rahbi said the militias abducted 32 citizens, 7 juvenile abductions and 5 cases of enforced disappearance.
Al-Rahbi said women have been subjected to the most severe abuses against them, 13 women have been imprisoned by the coalition-backed militia and denied their legal rights.
