Terrorist organizations recruit young men in Lahj

Local sources reported that elements of terrorist organizations are making active moves publicly to attract young people to join their ranks in Lahj province, southern Yemen.

According to the sources, the leaders loyal to al-Qaeda, “Abu al-Khattab Asaad al-Yousfi”, announced on Monday, the opening of a recruitment camp to receive what they called “Mujahideen” in Lahj.

The sources added that the process of polarization of young people from Lahj province, based on the exploitation of the difficult living conditions of citizens “to push them towards the holocausts” .

The sources explained that “the Salafist leaders who are affiliated with al-Qaeda, and funded by Saudi Arabia, have set monthly rewards of more than 2,500 Saudi riyals for each southern recruit, in exchange for engaging in fighting in its ranks.”

Moreover, the sources pointed out that the terrorist groups promised young recruits, to pay financial compensation to their families estimated at 20 thousand Saudi riyals, equivalent to “3 million Yemeni riyals”, if they are killed.

Furthermore, the same sources confirmed that the process of receiving new recruits in the ranks of terrorist organizations is taking place in full view of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), near the iron factory in Lahj. “Everyone can be sure what’s happening near the iron factory,” she said.

In August 2018, The Associated Press revealed that there was close cooperation between Saudi-led coalition countries and terrorist organizations in Yemen.

While many local and foreign media have revealed in field investigations that the Saudi-led coalition is taking advantage of the impoverishment suffered by citizens in the occupied areas of Yemen and deceive them to to fight in its ranks.
