3 children die due to fire in Latakia, Syria
The members of the Lattakia fire brigade in northwestern Syria found the bodies of 3 children, while extinguishing a fire that broke out in a house in the southern Raml area on the outskirts of the city.
A source in the Latakia fire brigade told “Sputnik”: “We were informed on Saturday evening of a fire in one of the houses (under cladding) within a building in Al-Raml Al-Janoubi area on the outskirts of the city.
He confirmed that after the fire was put out, the bodies of 3 children were found, as a result of the fire that engulfed the house, indicating that their parents were outside the house during the outbreak of the fire.
According to the initial inspection of the house, it is believed that an electrical contact caused the fire to break out and reached the furniture, before it spread to the other rooms, which caused the death of the three children, and the house was completely burned.
The source added, “As soon as the fire was extinguished, specialists from the Forensic and Judicial Medical Authority and members of the Forensic Evidence Department arrived at the place, and investigations are still continuing into the incident.”
