YOC executive director meets WFP country director

Executive Director of the Yemeni Oil Company Ammar al-Adhrue’e has met with Representative and Country Director of the World Food Programme in Yemen Laurent Bukera.

 

Al-Adhrue’e and Bukera discussed on Thuresday the humanitarian conditions experienced by the Yemeni people as a result of the continued detention of oil derivative ships by the aggression coalition countries.

 

Al-Adhrue’e indicated that the continued detention of oil derivative ships hinders the transportation and delivery of medicines and food to citizens.

 

He explained the arbitrary practices of the countries of aggression in the continuation of the piracy of fuel ships will lead to a humanitarian disaster, where many sectors of service and vitality stop providing their services to citizens.

 

The YOC executive director pointed out hundreds of premature newborns in nurseries are at risk as a result of the suspension of supplying oxygen, indicating the continued detention of fuel ships also threatens the lives of thousands of dialysis patients.

 

 

He stressed the importance of working on the entry of fuel ships, pointing out that their continued detention will negatively affect relief work in Yemen and lead to a humanitarian disaster that threatens the Yemeni people.

 

On his part, Bukera affirmed his willingness to coordinate to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and work for the release of oil derivative ships.
