YPC Warns of Humanitarian Catastrophe Due to Detention of Oil Ships
The Executive Director of Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) on Thursday warned of a humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the ongoing detainment of oil ships at sea by the US-Saudi Aggression.
During his meeting with the Resident Representative of the UNDP Auke Lootsma, Eng. Ammar Al-Adrai confirmed that the forces of aggression are still holding 10 oil ships despite having obtained UN permits to enter the port of Hodeidah, explaining that the continued detention of ships threatens to stop the service sectors and threatens a humanitarian disaster.
He added that stopping the supply of oil products threatens the lives of a thousand children in incubators and 4 thousand patients in need of dialysis. He pointed out that the scarcity of oil derivatives has caused damage to agricultural products, which threatens the food security of citizens.
