Minister of Health: Many Medical Equipment Operating Since 1990s, Got Out of Service Due to Aggression, Siege

The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, affirmed that a comprehensive reform of the health sector will go ahead.

He pointed out that during the past decades, the health sector had not kept pace with the people’s demands and needs, explaining that the officials of the former regime had used to travel abroad for treatment and left the health sector neglected, leading the citizens to suffer from the lack of an efficient medical service and specialized centers.

He noted that there have been medical equipment operating in hospitals since the 1990s, and got out of service due to the aggression and siege.

He indicated that the aggression targeted hospitals and health centers by missiles, and the siege has added to the suffering, as there is a lack of medical equipment and many medicines.
