Over 80,000 Yemenis lost lives due to Sanaa airport closure : Transport Minister

Over 80,000 Yemeni children and women have lost their lives due to the continued closure of Sanaa International Airport.

He mentioned that about 54,000 patients suffer from chronic and other diseases and need to travel abroad for treatment, and 4 million expatriates cannot return to the country.”

Minister of Transport, Major General Zakaria Al-Shami, stressed in a speech during an event organized by the International Campaign to End the Siege of Sanaa International Airport, that continued closure of the airport by the Saudi-led coalition is a crime.

He added that a decision of Sanaa airport’s closure was taken by the Saudi Ministry of Defense, in a flagrant and clear violation of the human right and international conventions.

The minister pointed out that many children and people with chronic diseases die every minute as a result of the forbidden weapons of the coalition and the closure of airport.
