ICESSA, YC Hold Symposium On Effects Of Closing Sana’a Airport In Germany

The International Campaign to lift the Siege of Sana’a Airport (ICLSSA) and the Yemeni community (YC) in Germany have organized a symposium on the disastrous effects of the closure of Sana’a International Airport by the aggression.

Yemen’s representative to the United Nations Umm Kulthum Ba’alawi, head of the Yemeni community in Germany Yahya Al-Sharafi and director of Sana’a International Airport Khaled al-Shayef participated in the symposium via video meeting who presented working papers.

The working papers dealt with the catastrophic effects of the closure of Sana’a International Airport and official statistics resulting from the closure and the illegality of its closure as a civilian facility.

The working papers confirmed that the closure of the Airport violates international laws that classified its closure as a war crime.

The symposium reviewed the positive attitude of the Germans towards the movements of the Yemeni community to lift the injustice of the Yemeni people.

Participants in the symposium discussed analysis, official statistics and legal documents on the effects of the aggression on more than 23 million Yemenis.

The participants affirmed the rejection of the continued closure of the airport that violates international laws and human rights, denouncing the silence of the United Nations and international organizations towards the injustice inflicted on the Yemeni people.
