Yemen calls on SC, UN to lift ban on airports

Transport Minister Zakaria al-Shami called on the Security Council and the United Nations to take a firm decision to lift an all-inclusive siege on Yemen’s airports.

As the world celebrates the International Civil Aviation Day, which falls on December 7th each year, Yemen’s airports are targeted and systematically destroyed by the Saudi-led coalition aggression, the minister said in a statement to Saba on Monday.

Minister al-Shami condemned the continued silence of the international community and humanitarian and relief organizations towards the war of extermination and the unjust blockade by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people.

He also called on the Security Council and the United Nations to take a decision to resume civil, commercial, and humanitarian flights to and from Sanaa International Airport, which represents the first gate of Yemen.
