America Is The Biggest Killer Of Yemen Children

Brutal crimes against humanity have multiplied throughout history and varied according to the killer and the victim, but the most heinous one from a human perspective is the killing of children. It is happening in an unprecedented way since the United States led the current world order.

Dozens of massacres have been committed by America against the world’s children in clear violation of UN resolutions, foremost of which is Resolution 51/77 on the Rights of the Child, which was a significant development in efforts to improve the protection of children in conflict situations.

In a microcosm of the American criminality, the children of Yemen have been suffering, for nearly 6 years, from murder, starvation, diseases resulting from forbidden weapons, and malnutrition resulting from the unjust blockade.

An example of massacres

The Saudi-led Arab coalition committed a heinous massacre against childhood in Yemen, whereas Saudi planes bombed with a smart bomb (mk82) manufactured by the American company Gisal Dynamics from the United States Air Force system on August 9, 2018, a bus that children were traveling in Dhahyan market in Saada governorate It caused the killing of 42 children and the wounding of 70 others in a crime described by international organizations as a war crime.

“Human Rights Watch” stated in its comment on it that the airstrike appears to be a war crime ,calling on the world countries to immediately freeze arms sales to Saudi Arabia, and to support the independent investigation of the United Nations into the violations committed by Saudi Arabia in Yemen.

“Human Rights Watch” confirmed that the Saudi-Emirati coalition carried out several air strikes, identifying at least 24 sites that were targeted by munitions of American origin. It is reported that America is working to deliver $ 7 billion worth of precision-guided munitions to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

“The Saudi-led coalition attack on a bus full of children adds to its gruesome record of killing civilians at weddings, funerals, hospitals and schools in Yemen,” said Bill Van Esveld, senior child rights researcher at Human Rights Watch. Countries with knowledge of this record, who supplied the Saudis with bombs, may be complicit in future attacks that kill civilians.

Shame List

In a move described as advanced to protect children in Yemen and start to hold criminals accountable, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, included the Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen on the blacklist of countries and armed groups that violate children’s rights during conflicts.

In a report issued on Thursday, June 2, 2016, Ban Ki-moon added that the coalition was responsible for 60 percent of the deaths, injuries inflicted on children during 2015, that is, 510 children were killed, and 676 others were injured.

The report documented a significant increase in the number of children killed or maimed during 2015, reaching six times the number of children in 2014, adding that this increase continues during 2016.

The same report also recorded an increase in the number of attacks on schools and hospitals, during 2015, because of the increase in the frequency of air strikes and the use of explosive and prohibited weapons in populated areas.

This is the first time that a military alliance supported by the United States of America and led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been named “a list of shame.”

International Collusion:

For three years, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition remained on the black list, and despite this dozens of children were killed and injured, but the coalition, by means of financial pressure and the American decision, managed to get out of the list of shame .The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, announced the removal of the name of the coalition from the “Shame list “, which angered human rights activists around the world.
.
Organizations concerned with the defense of human rights criticized the United Nations for that, despite the United Nations itself confirmed that 222 children were killed or injured in 2019 by coalition fire.

The report of the Secretary-General of the United Nations submitted to the UN Security Council on children and armed conflict indicated that there were 4,042 grave violations that targeted 2,159 children in Yemen last year, killing 395 children and injuring at least 1,447.

The report indicated that the coalition killed and injured 222 children, and its loyal forces caused the death and injury of 147 children. The so-called “Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula” also caused the death and injury of five children .Daesh killed and wounded two children, according to the report.

Sanaa accuses America of supporting, financing and training the takfiri groups (al-Qaeda and Daesh) in the country to spread chaos and find justification for carrying out air operations and having bases on the ground. But, its forces were earlier able to control the main stronghold of these groups in al-Bayda and announced that it had found American weapons handed over to the Saudi Arabia forces , which is considered as strong evidence of supportting for these individuals.

Human Rights Watch accused the Secretary-General of ignoring the available evidence regarding grave violations by the aggression coalition against children in Yemen, warning that this decision makes children vulnerable to more attacks.
“The Secretary-General is adding a new level of shame to (the shame list) by removing the Saudi-led coalition and ignoring UN evidence of continuing grave violations against children,” said Joe Baker, director of children’s rights advocacy at Human Rights Watch.

Adrian Labar, director of the Watch List concerned with children and armed conflict, said the write-off “sends the message that powerful actors can escape the killing of children” and called for an “independent, objective and transparent evaluation of the process that led to the decision.”

The former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, accused the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of exerting “unacceptable” pressure on the international organization, as allied countries threatened to cut off funding necessary for aid programs.

The siege kills children

Weapons are not the only ones which kill Yemeni children, but the blockade imposed on the country since March 26, 2015, kills hundreds of children annually. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that two million children in Yemen suffer from severe nutritional deficiencies.

The organization added that the increase in the number of Yemeni children who suffer from severe acute malnutrition has increased by 200 percent since 2014, reaching nearly 462,000 children, confirming that at least one child dies every ten minutes from preventable diseases, It noted that it is not possible to deliver foodstuffs to the areas that need them, describing the situation in Yemen as catastrophic.

Sana’a reveals America’s crimes

In light of the international silence about the American, Saudi, and Emirati crimes against the Yemenis, Sana’a saw that its grievances should be heard to the world at large. For this reason, the Ministry of Information in Sana’a launched recentlya wide media campaign under the title # America’s crimes in Yemen .. During the inauguration, the Director of the Presidency Office affirmed the importance of possessing a high awareness of the nation’s main enemy to ensure effective action on its face. He pointed out that America is the head of evil , the mother of “terrorism” and the maker of the crises that the Yemeni people have suffered since the start of the aggression that was announced by Washington.

Hamed praised the efforts of the national media in this regard, stressing the great task entrusted to the media to enhance awareness of the crimes ,saying, “We urge the leaders and cadres of the national media to uncover the truth about the American crime against our Yemeni people and the peoples of the world. “.

The director of the presidency office clarified that the upcoming media policy will be based on exposing America’s crimes in Yemen, stressing that the national media’s proper role will create awareness among the Islamic nation of the extent of America’s criminality against peoples.
He pointed to the necessity of opening American crime files against the peoples of the world and the Yemeni people in particular, which are large and many files.
