US coronavirus infections exceed 9,000,000
The number of Coronavirus (COViD-19) infections in the US exceeded more than nine million cases on Saturday, after breaking the record for daily new infections for the second day in a row.
On Friday (local time), the country set a record number of new daily casualties by more than 94,000 in 24 hours, breaking the record of 91,000 a day earlier, according to a census from Johns Hopkins University.
The United States has been experiencing a resurgence of the disease since mid-October, with more than 9.342 million cases so far.
The pattern of the epidemic so far shows that hospital admissions usually begin to rise after several weeks of infection and death a few weeks later.
Hopkins University statistics show that more than 229,000 people have died of the virus in the United States since the outbreak began on Friday, with the number of daily deaths steadily increasing in recent weeks as well.
