YMU announces solidarity with IRTVU
Yemeni Media Union (YMU) has condemned the United States’ decision to impose sanctions on the Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) for allegedly interfering in the 2020 US presidential elections.
In a statement issued on Friday, the YMU declared its full solidarity with the IRTVU, expressing that the US action is an illegal step and a clear violation of freedom of opinion.
“All media outlets enjoy, in accordance with international laws and conventions, this right that criminalizes the abuse or targeting of media professionals or media organizations in any form.”
The YMU’s statement stressed that the US interference in the policies of the international media is an attempt to silence voices that disclose the US crimes against humanity in various countries of the world.
The statement called on all regional and international press, media, human rights, and legal institutions and organizations to show solidarity with the IRTVU.
It called on all free people in the world to expose the crimes and violations committed by the arrogant forces in the world, as the United States and Israel, especially in the Arab and Islamic countries.
