PLO: Normalization of Sudan with Israeli occupation is a new stab in the back of the Palestinian people

The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) considered the  Sudanese government’s decision to normalize relations with Israeli occupation  as a new stab in the back of the Palestinian people.

“Sudan’s normalization with  Israeli occupation state constitutes a new stab in the back of the Palestinian people, a betrayal of their just cause and a departure from the Arab peace initiative,” said Wassel Abu Yusuf, a member of the PLO’s executive committee.

“President Donald Trump’s decision this week to remove Sudan from the US list of state sponsors of terrorism has paved the way for Khartoum to follow the example of the UAE and Bahrain in joining the so-called Abraham Agreements,” a US official said on condition of anonymity.

This comes following  press reports that Khartoum and Tel Aviv have reached a preliminary agreement to establish relations.

Last month, the UAE and Bahrain signed an agreement to normalize relations with Israel in Washington, sponsored by US President Donald Trump.
