16 people killed, wounded by explosive device in Afghanistan
Afghan media reported on Sunday that dozens of soldiers and civilians were killed and wounded in an explosive device targeting a strategic road in Afghanistan.
The Afghan “Tolo News” channel, citing its sources, said that 10 Afghan National Army soldiers and three civilians were killed in the explosion and three others were wounded.
According to the sources, the explosion targeted a military and civilian convoy on the road leading to the Afghan province of Sar-e Pol.
Afghanistan suffers from frequent armed clashes and violent battles between the internal security forces backed by US forces and other NATO forces on the one hand, and the Taliban militants, at a time when ISIS is constantly strengthening its influence in this country.
