Tunisia bans gatherings, reducing working hours due to Coronavirus
Prime minister Hichem Mechichi announced a new package of preventive measures aimed at confronting the Coronavirus and limiting its spread, Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) reported.
The most prominent of which is the adoption is banning gatherings and reducing n the number of working hours, with the exception of Some vital sectors and ensuring the continuity of work in educational institutions with the application of health protocols, the TAP cited prime minister Hichem Mechichi explaining .
He indicated that the figures related to the epidemiological situation in the country are not reassuring and require urgent action, stressing that there is no room for complacency.
The PM stressed that there is no plan to return to a complete lockdown, saying that the Tunisian people do not have the ability to withstand such a situation.
The decision was made amid serious concerns that hospitals in Tunisia would not be able to accommodate a large number of patients due to a lack of intensive care beds.
