More than 33,000 new coronavirus infections reported in Brazil

The Brazilian Ministry of Health said in a statement late Friday that it had recorded 708 deaths and 33,431 new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19)  within 24 hours.

The total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to date is 4,880,523, and 145,388 deaths.

Brazil is the most affected country in the world after the United States in terms of the total number of deaths.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified the new Coronavirus (COVID-19), which appeared in China late last year, as a global epidemic.
