2 US senators infected with Corona virus
Two US senators were infected with the Corona virus after attending an event held by President Donald Trump at the White House recently to announce his candidate for the vacant position on the Supreme Court.
Senator Tom Telles from North Carolina announced that he was infected with the virus and said in a statement, “Fortunately, I have no symptoms and I feel in good health.” Senator Mike Lee also announced that he tested positive for the virus.
Senators Tom Telles and Mike Lee are both members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which must approve the judges before a full vote in the Senate.
The two, along with several members of the Judicial Committee, attended the event that President Trump held last Saturday to announce the nomination of Judge Amy Connie Barrett for membership in the US Supreme Court.
In addition to Senator Tom Telles and Senator Mike Lee, John Jenkins, President of the University of Notre Dame, who was also present at the event, announced that he was infected with the Coronavirus.
Killian Conway, a former advisor to US President Donald Trump, also announced that tests had confirmed her infection with the Coronavirus.
