The Prisoner Exchange Agreement Reached Under The Sweden Agreement: Head Of The National Delegation

The Prisoners Affairs Committee had concluded a first-phase agreement to free over a thousand prisoners from both sides, including Saudis and Sudanese, the Head of the Sana’a negotiating delegation announced on Sunday.

The agreement was a translation of the implementation of the Sweden agreement and the subsequent meetings and discussions with the United Nations, Abdulsalam said on his Twitter account.

With the presence of the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and the representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross Fabrizio Carboni, the prisoner exchange agreement signed Sunday between the delegations of Sanaa and Hadi’s government in Montreux city, Switzerland, stipulated the release of 1,081 prisoners from both sides as a first batch.

Providing that the implementation process will start on the 15th of next October, the aggreement included the release of 681 prisoners of the army and popular committees in returne for 400 from the other party, including 15 Saudis and four Sudanese.
