Human Rights report reveals war crimes committed by aggression in 2,000 days
The aggression coalition’s warplanes have killed 16,771 people, including women and children in 2,000 days, according to a report issued by the Ministry of Human Rights.
The report said 26,349 civilians have been injured and around 4,147,208 people have been displaced by the aggression’s warplanes in 2,000 days of the aggression against Yemen.
It indicated that the US-Saudi aggression coalition’s warplanes killed 3,747 children and 355 women since March 26, 2015.
The report added that 12 crimes committed by the aggression coalition’s warplanes since March 26, 2015, until last August were classified as war crimes according to the International Humanitarian Law.
The first crime was violating the national sovereignty of Yemen by launching air, sea, and land aggression and seizing ports, airports, and seaports.
The second crime was the occupation of the Yemeni land in the southern provinces, islands, coasts, and parts of the provinces of Marib and Jawf.
The report indicated that the aggression coalition worked through its occupation of Yemen in supporting the formation of military forces loyal to it.
It said that the aggression supports the Security Belt, Hadhrami Elite, and Shabwani Elite forces in the southern and eastern parts of Yemen. It also supports forces in the Western Coast and Aba al-Abbas in Hodeida and Taiz provinces respectively, including armed groups of al-Qaeda and ISIS.
The third crime is to starve the Yemeni people through a comprehensive blockade and arbitrary restrictions to prevent the entry of oil, gas, food, medical supplies and humanitarian aid to Yemen, the report said. It also included transfer functions of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) from the capital Sanaa to Aden province.
The report stated that an economic blockade imposed on Yemen has caused high rates of malnutrition, starvation of ten million civilians, the spread of epidemics and diseases, and a high rate of fetal deformities.
While the transfer functions of the CPY resulted in depriving more than 1.5 million employees of their salaries and increasing the poverty rate to 85 percent and unemployment as well.
The report also stated that the transfer functions of the Bank also caused the deterioration of the financial and banking sector, the national currency, the rise in the exchange rate, and the prices of food and medicine.
The aggression’s warplanes systematically targeted places 13,324 sites and agricultural fields, 11,610 centers, complexes, and sheltered agricultural houses, and a market, it said, adding the warplanes killed 441,523 herds and livestock, destroyed, and burned more than 41,610 beehives.
According to the report, the aggression resulted in depriving 40,000 fishermen of practicing their jobs, destroying more than 2,298 water installations, and burning more than 4,718 fish centers, markets, and boats.
The fourth crime included the targeting and killing of civilians in hostile military attacks and raids on residential buildings, killing and injuring 43,130 civilians, most of them women and children.
The report pointed out that the fifth crime represented by targeting population centers. The aggression warplanes waged raids on markets, funerals’ and weddings’ halls, and villages and camps for IDPs, causing the displacement of more than 4,147,208.
The sixth crime of the aggression coalition included the forced displacement of citizens according to their identity as happened to the people of the northern provinces in the southern provinces.
The forced displacement also included hundreds of families from their homes and villages such as al-Sarari, al-Junaid and al-Rumaimah families in Taiz province, including the forced displacement of thousands of civilians from their villages in the provinces of Saada, Hajjah, and Hodeida.
The seventh crime of the aggression came in targeting hospitals, medical cadres, health centers, educational institutions, factories, communications, seaports, media, and sports institutions, according to the report, causing depriving 19.7 million people of health services and about 7.4 million people lacking healthy nutrition while 12.6 million people are in need of drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene.
The aggression caused the destruction of 348 factories, five-grain mills, 538 systems, and power stations, 2,060 communication networks, 763 fuel stations, 14 ports, nine airports, 47 media institutions, 41 judicial facilities, 131 sports facilities, 3,930 roads, and bridges, the report said.
It added that 163,000 gas cylinders and four civil aircraft have been burnt by the aggression coalition.
The report indicated that the eighth crime committed by the aggression coalition was the destruction of religious and cultural objects, including mosques and historical monuments as it destroyed over 2,000 days 1,324 mosques and more than 417 archaeological sites and 364 tourist facilities.
While the ninth crime that the aggression coalition used internationally banned weapons against Yemen as it threw high-explosive clusters and vacuum bombs, causing pollution of the environment, soil, and air, and burns the skin and bones of the victims and deformed fetuses.
The tenth crime was the violation of the civilians’ rights and the removal of international protection from the aggression countries on the Yemeni territories.
The tenth crime also explained that the aggression coalition deliberately concealed hundreds of human rights activists and opponents.
Moreover, the aggression had kidnapped and arrested more than 1,000 civilians and travelers in the occupied areas. It and its mercenaries also tortured detainees and raped dozens of women and children.
The report noted that the eleventh crime committed by the aggression was a violation of the rights of 8,100 prisoners of the army and popular committees who were subjected to psychological and physical torture.
Furthermore, a number of them were mutilated and others were killed in the aggression prisons, including the crime of treachery in carrying out naval, air, and ground military operations on civilians and facilities after the ceasefire was declared.
The 12th crime, which is the worst humanitarian disaster caused by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people worldwide, led to the death of 42,000 patients because they were unable to travel abroad for treatment for the closure of Sanaa International Airport and the imposition of restrictions on ports.
