Griffiths Exposes Coalition’s Defeat in Marib Before Security Council

A number of political analysts considered the briefing of UN envoy to Yemen in the Security Council, last Tuesday, an attempt to increase the crisis that started six years ago.

Some of observers believe that Griffith’s briefing confirms the coalition’s efforts to demand an international pressure to stop their defeat and the Army and Committees’ victory in Marib front.

False signals

Some believe that the briefing, in which Griffith warns of “controlling Marib by the Houthis,” aims to create false beliefs, that Marib was not a frontline, leading to make the pro-government of Hadi demanding it in every forum, although there is no any agreement of neutralizing Marib.

Griffith has referred, in malicious ways, to “the importance of Marib,” as Marib is used by Hadi and the coalition as the economic and military capital, while the Armed Forces consider liberating Marib as a part of liberating all the Yemeni land.

Griffith’s briefing contained inconsequential descriptions, indicating the state of confusion that the coalition suffers from, and confirming that the coalition countries no longer have many options to stop the operations as the Army and Popular Committees are about to control Marib.
