Earthquake hits Kuril Islands in eastern Russia
A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck on Thursday the city of Severo-Kurilsk, on the island of Paramusher in the Kuril region, eastern Russia.
The Russian Emergency Ministry administration in the city stated that the quake was detected at 01:11 Moscow time (22:11 GMT), 77 kilometers east of Severo-Korilsk.
The emergency ministry administration added that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 62 km and had a magnitude of 4.3, but the people of Severo-Kurilsk did not feel earthquakes with a magnitude of 2 to 3.
The statement indicated that no injuries were reported yet from the earthquake, and no tsunami warning was issued.
