Protest stand to be held Friday in New York to demand ending war on Yemen

The Yemeni community in the US New York State is to hold on Friday, with the participation of a number of civil society organizations, a protest stand in front of Schumers’s office, under the slogan “Lifting the siege and stopping the aggression is all Yemenis’ demand.

Head of the external team of the International Campaign to End the Siege on Sanaa Airport, Mohammed al-Zabidi, said in a statement to Yemen Press Agency that “The protest comes within the framework of legitimate defense and rejecting the continued aggression and the suffocating siege on the Yemeni people for the sixth year in a row.”

Al-Zabidi indicated that during the protest event, a march would be organized in front of the Saudi embassy, to condemn the brutal crimes and massacres that its aircraft commit against civilians in Yemen.

He referred that the event coincides with the second anniversary of the Saudi-led coalition’s crime against Dhahian students in Saada province, which left 131 dead and wounded on August 9, 2018.

“These protests aimed at exposing the coalition’s crimes against the Yemenis in front of the American opinion, given that America is the official partner of the aggression coalition and one of the largest countries selling weapons to Saudi Arabia,” al-Zabidi said.

He added, “We have seen great sympathy on the part of the American street,” noting to the emergence of some American voices calling for an end to the war and lifting the siege that has contributed to creating the greatest humanitarian disaster in the current era.
