Humanitarian Affairs: UN Decision to Reduce Aid to Yemen Reflects Its Real Role

The decision of UN organizations to reduce aid to Yemen by more than 75% at a sensitive stage reflects the reality of the role of these organizations, Head of the Planning Department at the Supreme Council for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Mutahar Zaid said on Tuesday.

Zaid added that most of the expenses of UN organizations’ projects go towards operating expenses of more than 80% and that UN organizations are the only beneficiaries under this aid, providing to the Yemeni people nothing but crumbs.

Regarding coronavirus containment efforts taken by the Supreme Council, the Head of the Planning Department confirmed that there is a central operations room for coordination between the relevant agencies to address the risks of the corona epidemic.
