5.4 magnitude earthquake hits southern Iran
An earthquake measuring 5.4 on Richter scale hit, at dawn today, Monday, the Roider district of Bandar Khmer in Hormuzgan province, in southern Iran.
The Seismological Center of the Geophysical Foundation at the University of Tehran reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was at latitude 27.20 latitude, 55.32 degrees longitude and 16 km from the Earth’s surface.
There were no reports of casualties or material damage from this earthquake.
The Roeder district of Bandar Khmer is 70 km west of Bandar Abbas, the center of Hormuzgan province, in southern Iran.
