Coronavirus death cases in China rise to 2,912

The death toll from the new coronavirus in the country has risen to 2,912, and confirmed infected cases exceed 80,000, Chinese authorities said on Monday.

According to china’s National Health Commission, in the past 24 hours, 42 new deaths have been registered, all in Hubei province, the epicenter of the virus.

A total of 202 death cases have been reported, bringing the death toll to 2,912, confirmed infected cases to 80,267, and 2,837 cured after treatment, the commission added.
