Coronavirus death cases in China rise to 2,715

China’s National Health Commission said on Wednesday that over 406 new cases of coronavirus have been registered on Tuesday, down from 508 the previous day.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in mainland China to 78,064 to date, according to the National Health Commission.

The number death cases in the main provinces was 2,715 by the end of Tuesday, in a rate of 52 cases from the previous day.

The central province of Hubei, the epicenter of the virus outbreak, recorded 401 new cases on February 25, compared with 499 the previous day, according to China’s National Health Commission.

On 31st December, Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) of an outbreak of the virus pneumonia in Wuhan city, in the central part of the country, and has since spread the virus to several countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) had previously classified the “emerging coronavirus” in China as an “epidemic” and declared an “international-led health emergency”.
