Health Ministry: US-SaudiI coalition Could be behind Spread of Epidemics in Yemen

 

The Minister of Public Health and Population announced today, Tuesday, that it does not exclude the involvement modified viruses in the war against the Yemeni people, revealing in numbers the number of cases of viral diseases in the country.

In turn, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Mohammed Al-Mansour, revealed that the cases of H1N1 flu had reached two cases during last October, and 94 deaths.

Al-Mansour pointed out that the suspected cases of dengue fever reached 20,300 cases during the current month of December. He confirmed that the deaths of dengue fever reached 68 cases this December in the governorates of Al-Hodeidah, Hajjah, Aden, Lahj, Shabwa, Marib and Rima. He pointed out that he suffered dengue fever during the current December 2498 children under the age of five, and 16 of them died, and they represent 24% of deaths.

For his part, the representative of the World Health Organization in Sana’a said that 6945 seasonal flu cases were registered in Yemen, 113 thousand cases were recorded in the Middle East region and 2.6 million cases worldwide.

Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs, Dr. Hussein Makbouli saying, “We seek to take practical steps to reduce the epidemics afflicting the respiratory system, which are becoming more dangerous due to the situation created by the continuation of the war and the siege.”

In turn, Minister of State Hamid Al-Majzaji asserted that the bombing of the aggression on infrastructure such as electricity, clean water networks and health is a fundamental reason besides the blockade in the spread of influenza epidemics. Al-Muzajaji explained that the spread of multiple influenza epidemics in the West Coast exceeds the capacity of the health system, which suffers from weakness as a result of the destruction by the coalition and the blockade.

For his part, Minister of Local Administration Ali al-Qaisi called on international organizations to transfer the truth to the world and that the use of weapons prohibited by the coalition is behind killing of Yemenis and the spread of epidemics.
